TARTE CHEEK STAIN (TIPSY) - PRODUCT REVIEW

It is 5 PM and you've been at it all day - school, work, kids, grandkids, parties, meetings, and clubs.  Wherever you're going the goal is to look refreshed and fabulous no matter how long it has been since you applied your blush. Tarte's all day cheek stain is a great addition to anyone who needs to go-go-go and wants a look that is refreshing and natural.

THE COLOR
Tipsy is a sheer warm-toned coral.

THE PROS
Let's talk packaging first.  The secure twist-top lid helps prevent this bad boy from opening in your bag.  The easy to use twist bottom gives you access to more product as you use it, like a big stick of lip balm.  The size of this, though, does not make it purse friendly.  I guess that does not matter as much given one application is supposed to last you all day so no need to carry it around for touch ups.  It does last a long time (around 10-12 hours) compared to other blushes that I have tried.  Another great feature is that you can use it straight from the stick.  You don't have to dirty a brush or sponge, unless you want to, which makes it a great product to quickly apply and head out for the day.  Swipe or dab this on your cheeks, blend it out with your finger or brush and go.  This stain is very easy to blend out compared to other stains I have used, another time saver, and once dry looks very natural.  These stains are not opaque when first applied, they will let your skin shine through leaving your cheeks looking like they have a natural flush to them.  You can build the color though, but it you will have to let it dry and then apply your additional layers to build the color.  For those with normal to dry skin this will apply beautifully on your cheeks giving them a hydrated look.  A bonus to this product is that you can use it on your lips, too, but it will not last all day like the cheek stain will.

THE CONS
If you live in a humid area there may be condensation that gathers under the lid.  Just be sure to wipe it off before applying and clean the surface regularly to remove bacteria.  The stain texture when first applied is slightly sticky like a lip gloss so if you are not used to a wet texture being applied to your cheeks it can feel awkward at first.  Another thing I personally am not a fan of is the scent.  It reminds me of the Strawberry Short Cake dolls from the 80s and while the smell does dissipate within five minutes of application, I cannot help by ask, "Why does it need to be such a strong scent?  What are you hiding, Tarte, with that smell?"  For those with oily skin this product may not stick for all day use like it is intended.

THE CALCULATIONS
Tarte lists these at $30.00 per container and hold 0.5oz of product.

THE VERDICT - PENDING
At this point I would repurchase this just based on application alone, but I'm curious to see how much use I get out of it.  How long does a 0.5oz container last me?  I will report back later once I've used this up and let you know my closing thoughts.
