LUSH MINT JULIPS LIP SCRUB - PRODUCT REVIEW

Winter have you down with extremely dry lips?  Give your pout some TLC with Lush's Mint Julips Lip Scrub.

In my family dry lips run rampant.  For years we have joked about being the sole reason ChapStick has stayed in business for so long.  So for a long time I have been trying to find ways to cope - cope with dry, cracking lips that scream, "You'll never wear mat lipstick, hahaha!"  Now enter one of my winter lifesavers - Lush's Mint Julips Lip Scrub.  My desert like pout first tasted the sweet nectar of the lip scrub this past November.  "A marketing fallacy," I thought, "surely!"  Friends I'm here to say that this product has seriously helped with getting rid of the result of dry lips.  The scrub will gently remove the dead skin leaving your fresh, moist lips underneath to shine through.  While the use of this product does not ensure your lips will stay hydrated, it helps with the unsightly skin that is left as a result of dryness.

THE ROUTINE
Smudge some of this scrub on your lips and using your finger, or a slightly damp toothbrush, and begin to lightly rub your lips.  You can rinse it off with water or do as Lush recommends and lick it off.

THE REVIEW
Texture: Semi moist sugar granules that are not too abrasive on the delicate skin of your lips.

Smell: At Lush you can smell their testers to see which flavor suites you best.  Their flavors range from Mint Julips which has a wonderful sweet minty cocoa scent, Popcorn, and Bubble Gum for those that like super sweet sweets.  The scent does not last beyond the use of the product so once you wash or lick it off the smell will dissipate shortly after.

And Taste, Oh My!: I think the fun part of using this product is the wonderful flavor it has.  Even if you rinse it off if you get some in your mouth while scrubbing it is quite pleasant.  The Mint Julips tastes exactly like it smells - delicious!

THE CALCULATIONS
Ringing in currently at $9.95 per bottle, this container unusually lasts me around 20-25 applications which comes out to around $0.50-$0.40 per treatment.

THE VERDICT
Okay, so is this repurchase worthy?  If you're a sufferer of extreme dry lips then a product like this is a must in your routine.  I have heard of some Do-It-Yourself recipes where you can make a product much like this one at home, though I cannot say if that's a cheaper or easier option.  I typically only purchase this during the dryer times of the year to give my lips that much more love.
